The sustainable solution to welfare assistance
The Charity Shop Gift Card is the only multi-retailer gift card for use solely in charity shops. Not only is the gift card available to thrifty consumers, it is also used by councils, housing associations and charities supporting people experiencing financial hardship to disburse crisis funding.
Sustainable support for essentials
Charity shops offer essentials from clothing to white goods, at lower prices and are easily accessible on the local high streets. The broad range of brands and styles offers dignity of choice to beneficiaries.
PROMOTING THE circular economy
Quality items are donated to charity shops by residents, processed in shops staffed by locals and purchased by recipients of the gift card. All helping to reduce landfill, carbon emissions and supporting the local circular economy.
supporting charities
Whether helping national charities fund life-saving research or regional charities provide hospice care for its community. Distributing welfare funding via The Charity Shop Gift Card helps hundreds of charities continue their vital work.
Making the most of your budget
Buying secondhand offers value for money, unspent funds upon expiry of The Charity Shop Gift Card are returned to you to load onto further gift cards and the SROI of every £1 spent in charity shops is £7.35.
How it works
Using The Charity Shop Gift Card is simple and can cut down on the administrative burden of ad hoc or informal relationships with charity shops supporting with the supply of items.
1
Physical gift cards or e-vouchers are loaded with the required amount and the expiry date as chosen by you and you will never pay more than the face value of the gift card.
2
The recipient can then spend the gift card in any participating charity shops, on multiple occasions until the funds are all spent or the card expires.
3
Once the card expires, any unspent funds are returned to you (subject to a £1 expiry fee) to be loaded onto the next gift card.
4
The gift cards issued are the same as our consumer cards, reducing any stigma people might experience when entering a charity shop with a piece of paper or having to inform staff they have been sent by an organisation to collect items. Recipients are empowered with the dignity of choice in being able to select from the huge range of quality items in the brands or style to suit them.
...the freedom to purchase those things that are really important.
